The origins of this privately-owned castle go back a very long way: its main tower, listed as a Monument Historique, was built in the 13th century on a huge boulder to protect the town and keep watch over its northern flank.
In the 17th century, a main building was added to accommodate Bernardine nuns, who temporarily made it their convent.
