Starting from the village of Charly, the Balcon des Sons hike is an accessible exit for everyone, ideal for a family moment.

Located at the foot of the Salève, this hike will allow you to discover a hilly and rural landscape with a low altitude.

With its eight-way loop, you can easily shorten or extend your hike if you wish.

Take the time to discover the landscapes and the many viewpoints that are offered to you, as well as the chapel of Charly or Saint-Jacques chapel built in...

Tips
As you walk down to the village of Présilly, you'll find information panels describing the scenery, a picnic table and a chapel. The sumptuous Carthusian monastery stands on the hills above Présilly (1170) and, nearby, is the Salève visitors centre (Maison du Salève) which will reveal all the secrets of this area! In Saint Symphorien, don't miss the Andilly vicarage (exhibitions, peals of bells, gardens etc.). And at the Mont-Sion pass, stop in Santa Claus' hamlet and in the nearby restaurant.

0/ Parking in Charly
1/ From the parking lot, go to the center of Charly and its church to reach the first directional plate «Charly»
2/ From «Charly» take the direction «Col du Mont Sion», a few meters further at the post of the same name take on the right direction «Col du Mont Sion», you will pass by the crossroads «Croix de Vin» continue towards «Col du Mont Sion»
3/ Arrived at the «Col du Mont Sion» near the departmental start on your left. Follow this rural path until you reach the directional post «Les Vernants»
4/ From "Les Vernants" continue towards "Bloc erratique" then "Montailloux"
5/ Arrived at «Montailloux» you will again reach the crossing «Croix de Vin», from there take the direction «Etang de la Bougerie»
6/ From «Etang de la Bougerie» you have the choice to go directly to Charly or to extend your hike by a small additional loop by following «La Grande Vy», then «Les Communes» and «Benvy».
7/ Finally return to «Etang de la Bougerie» before reaching your starting point.
