Gérard Châtain is a ceramist and sculptor who works with a wide range of materials and firing methods, adapting them to suit his particular expression.
For this sculpture, fired at 1100°c, he worked on the theme of the family, which for him is "a path of life, in direct link with the earth, mother of all, and human nature".
