Flat and free-flowing, you’ll make short work of this stage, flying down the slopes through the Haute Savoyard countryside following for the most part the balconies of Léman.
- Guidebook with maps/step-by-step(0 0km - 856m) At the St Blaise's church, take the departmental road 223 to Geneva. Leave the main road at the basketball court and continue straight ahead along the side of the cemetery. Pick the road back up in the direction of Mont Sion.
(1 1.3km - 790m) At the end of the hamlet, cross over the D1201 and climb up the trail opposite. Take care as the crossing is dangerous. At the crossroads with the wooden cross veer down the fork to the left.
(2 3.7km - 785m) When you reach some buildings continue straight ahead on the road, passing through the hamlet of Charly, and rejoining departmental road 23. Turn right at the end of the bend and climb up the pebbly path on the right. After 100 metres at the Y-shaped junction, take the right fork. Stay on the main track until you reach the road.
(3 5.5km - 799m) Cross over the road and take the mountain trail opposite. Follow the trail straight ahead for 1,500 metres. At the farm, turn left at the junction onto a tarmacked road and after another 150 metres turn left again and follow the path to Chez Gresat. Continue to descend on the pebbly path.
(4 7.8km - 719m) At the farm in the bend continue on the road. Make a descent into the village and at the stop sign turn right. At the end of the town (village), turn left onto the D123 to Chavannaz. In the first bend on the left, leave the road for the Chemin des Côtes climbing straight ahead of you.
(5 8.8km - 724m) After the climb and the Y-shaped junction, take the left path. Follow this for 1,300 metres and after a hedge of trees which separates two farms, take the path that goes to the right. Make a descent down the pebbly path.
(6 10.6km - 672m) From the road take a left turn by the wooden cross and houses. Continue straight on for 1,200 metres and in the bend on the right-hand side at the car park, leave the road and take the forest trail straight ahead. Make a descent down to the road following the main path.
