‘You have to know how to bloom in the place you are planted’
Born in Andilly, Vincent Humbert has always been deeply attached to his community. After an atypical school education, he went into hairdressing. Despite the fascinating encounters inherent to this profession, he had always nurtured a desire to create a project which would appeal to young and old. Given the vibrancy of the region, Vincent seized his opportunity on taking the reins of Andilly’s entertainment committee in 1994. The first edition of the Grandes Médiévales (Medieval festival) followed in 1996, attracting an enthusiastic audience. The success of this event encouraged Vincent to delve further into his imagination and create Santa Claus Village, followed by the Grand Parc d’Andilly theme park. Proud of his achievements over 30 years, Vincent is still eager to launch new projects. The Grand Parc has gained national renown and is France’s 8th largest theme park. With its timeless activity, it offers a boundless playground for expression in which Vincent flourishes.
Vincent’s creativity was forged by his travels and encounters. He drew lessons from the hardships in his life, which he transmits through the characters in his parks. Through his creations and decors, Vincent brings dreams alive for visitors, but also calls on them to reflect on the messages hiding behind. Outside of his work, Vincent lives a simple life, guided by the desire to do things for others. This attitude is also embodied by his local reinvestment of the profits earned from Grand Parc. Whether for the well-being of his employees or people in difficulty who have not experienced the magic of his creations, Vincent strives to ensure everyone benefits in some way. People lie at the heart of his project, and Vincent works with hundreds of different professions, volunteers and employees. From electricians to landscapers and decorators, thousands of contributors help shape the parks all year round to turn this dream into reality.
In addition to his duties as Voluntary President of Grand Parc, Vincent is also Mayor of Andilly. Through these roles at the service of his beloved community, he leads Andilly towards new projects. He enjoys having the freedom to organise his days as he pleases, despite a hectic schedule of appointments and meetings. Vincent describes his life as a hobby he creates, organises and visits. This winter, visitors can discover the latest attraction, the Nutcracker Kingdom, and new services at the ancestral Clef des Champs restaurant.
